Anxiety treatment in Reston, Lansdowne and across Virginia

Anxiety that runs the day is exhausting and it is treatable. Most new patients are seen within two weeks.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Worry you can't put down, even when things are fine
  • Tight chest, racing heart, trouble breathing, or sudden panic
  • Avoiding places, calls or decisions because of how they make you feel
  • Trouble sleeping because your mind won't stop
  • Irritability, restlessness, or feeling on edge most days

How we treat anxiety

Your first visit is a full evaluation: what you're experiencing, when it started, what you've tried, your health history and goals. From there we build a plan together. For many people that includes medication, which we start carefully and review at each visit. For most it also includes therapy with our licensed clinician, in person or by video. We measure progress with short questionnaires so you can see change, and we coordinate with your primary care provider when you want us to.

What the first visit is like

A 60-minute conversation with Omar Ahmad, PMHNP-BC. You'll complete two short questionnaires, talk through your history and what you want to be different, and leave with a plan and a follow-up date.

Visits are in person in Reston or Lansdowne, or by secure video anywhere in Virginia. Evening video appointments are available.
